Because online privacy concerns have become so significant, countries across the world celebrated Data Privacy Day on January 28th to raise awareness and promote data privacy education. Even though the day has passed, we figured that the issue still deserves some attention.

Qualtrics makes every effort to ensure that our clients’ data remains safe. This includes certifying annually with the European Union Safe Harbor Agreement and using SAS 70 certified data centers.

In addition, Qualtrics users may choose to do many things to comply with varying privacy standards. These options include involving a secure connection when accessing Qualtrics and selecting an “Anonymize Response” option that will prevent the survey from tracking respondents’ individual answers. The “Anonymize Response” option even hides a respondent’s IP address without removing the respondent from the panel. Also, Brand Administrators can disable an individual user’s permission to view respondents’ personal information.

Daily set trainings enable every Qualtrics user to learn the basic and advanced functions of the Research Suite.

Thanks to the rapid growth that Qualtrics is experiencing, the Qualtrics University Team is now training more people than we ever have before!

Because of this growth, we are pleased to announce a new training schedule that will include four set trainings every day:

• Basic Training
• Advanced Editing
• Advanced Distribution
• Advanced Reporting

These are pre-scheduled trainings that any user can join. Any participant may ask questions throughout the webinar as well.

The goal of these trainings is to provide a resource for every user to get help whenever they need it. While the basic webinar is the standard training with which most Qualtrics users are familiar, the new advanced trainings that focus on specific aspects of the Research Suite will provide even experienced Qualtrics users with added insights into ways they can improve their research.

We are still happy to do customized, administration, and other personalized trainings as needed; however, we believe that these set trainings will allow most users to get any training they need whenever they need it.

We’ve spotlighted many of these new features in our posts over the last few months. Today will mark the end of that series, but we wanted to show you one last unique feature that we think will be helpful to you. (If you missed any of them, click here to see them all)

CODER’S CORNER

At Qualtrics, we pride ourselves on our intuitive interface that allows the newest intern to create sophisticated functions.

However, our clients represent some of the most sophisticated researchers in the world and are constantly pushing the boundaries of what we typically refer to as research. The result is that the research suite, as flexible as it is, still can’t do everything using only a point-and-click interface.

So we built the Coder’s Corner and filled it with pre-written JavaScript to help you perform unique functions. If you want to do something unique and can’t figure out how to do it with Qualtrics, be sure to check the Coder’s Corner and call our support team. Odds are, we’ve developed a way for you to do it.

You get to the Corner by clicking the Coder’s Corner link to the left of the Qualtrics Helps articles.

Once you click on the links, you will see a page like this. It explains the use of the code and provides it for you to copy and paste. At the bottom, you will find directions on where to put the code into the Research Suite.

GLOSSARY

To be honest, we’re still not sure why the research industry has created its own language, but we do know the frustration it can cause.

To help alleviate this problem, we’ve created a glossary of research and Qualtrics-related terms. This is accessible under the “Qualtrics Helps” tab.

If Merriam Webster’s business model is any indication, words will continue to be created and used in different ways. We want to keep this glossary up to date, so it can assist you.

If you hear any research terms that are not included in this glossary, you can let us know by emailing publicrelations@qualtrics.com. We will research and add them to the glossary.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

While we try to make the Qualtrics Research Suite as intuitive as possible, we know that even elite researchers will have questions.

Most of the support questions we take are fairly unique. For instance, we were recently asked how to customize specific elements within a CSS stylesheet and how to branch based on constant sum percentages. However, we do get a few questions regularly.

When this happens, our support team creates an entry on our “Frequently Asked Questions” page.

You can access these questions by selecting “FAQs” from the “QUALTRICS HELPS” drop-down.

This page is organized by function: survey design, distribution, reporting, and other. It also includes hyperlinks that will take you to every question.

We hope this will be a helpful resource for you.

In the event that your question isn’t answered here, don’t panic. Most of the questions we hear are too unique for a FAQ page. Please call or email our support team and they will be happy to assist you.

Qualtrics hosts a weekly webinar series every Wednesday from 1 – 1:45 p.m. ET. This series explains research concepts, Qualtrics features, and everything in between.

You can access these webinars by clicking on “Webinars” under the “Tutorials” tab.

From here, you can click to register for upcoming webinars. These are free and available to all Qualtrics users. The only information you need to register is your name, organization, and email address.

This page also allows you to access previous webinars immediately. You only need to give your email address to access this content.

At Qualtrics, we don’t believe in nickel-and-diming our clients… so training in Qualtrics is free and available to all our users.

When you click on the training tab, you are immediately introduced to all the options provided by our training team. They include:

• Personalized Trainings scheduled with our team
  • Basic
  • Advanced
  • Administration
  • Customized

You can register for daily trainings by clicking on the calendar.

Our Qualtrics University is packed with lots of ways to help you get over any hump. Although you may love getting quick-fixes, we call this the Band-Aid approach.
