Depending on your background, experience, and even your preference, you will work in one or more of the following areas:
Product Development: Qualtrics seeks to engineer software that makes data collection and analysis easy enough for an intern, sophisticated enough for a Ph.D. As a new engineer, you will be launched into extending, improving, and creating features and products to accomplish that very task. You will have the opportunity to research and deploy solutions that are challenging and engaging.
User Interface Development and Design: Usability is a top priority of Qualtrics Engineers — you might even call us a little bit obsessive. You will help make sophisticated research simple by meticulously designing the user interface to be easy and seamless, using Ajax and similar technologies to construct an absolutely awesome user experience.
Back-end Software and Database Development: We are getting ready to push our service-oriented architecture to the next level. Do you think you are up to the task? Use Hadoop, Hbase, Thrift, and other pioneering technologies to create high-performance, large-scale data stores for the largest companies in the world.
Site Reliability: This isn’t quite like setting up a network in your parent’s basement for your neighborhood LAN party. Our Site Reliability Engineers are exploring the frontier of cloud computing by tackling problems with scalability and availability, designing and building new data centers, and having a blast all at the same time. Who doesn’t love playing with server blades that have 32 cores and 48 gigs of RAM?
