Concept Test Surveys
Concept Testing Definition: "How people, without prompting, interpret deliberately a sketchy idea for a new product or service."
(Scott. M. Smith and Gerald. A. Albaum, Fundamentals of Marketing Research, Sage Publications, 2006)
Concept testing is most often used in the concept development stage of product design to test the success of a new product idea before it is marketed. Concept analysis is often associated with the process of providing "proof of concept".
Concept testing and product development surveys provide insight into product potential. Moreover, when concept test surveys are conducted properly, they provide the direction and guidance necessary to selectively identify and communicate key product and market information. This information includes service benefits, uses, packaging, advertising, sales approaches, product information, distribution, and pricing.
Concept testing information is available in our Survey University and sample Concept Test surveys and questions are available in the Qualtrics Survey Library.
