Mail Merge

If you need to send unique links out to your respondents but can’t use the Qualtrics mailer, you will need to generate unique links and set up a mail merge.

To Generate Unique Links:

1. Create a panel with fake email addresses, such as devnull@qualtrics.com. Create as many fake email addresses as links you will need. The email address will be fake but any information you put in for name and embedded data will be attached to the unique link generated and connected to the results for that link.
2. Go to Distribute Survey and select Email Survey.
3. Set up the distribution to send to your fake panel.
4. Click on Advanced Options in the bottom and check the box Use email distribution link and select Don’t send emails. This will generate unique links but not send them.
5. To access the generated links, go the Email History and under the Actions drop-down menu, select to Download Mailing History. This will give you a list of unique links to use in a mail merge in your own email account.
