Look and Feel
Headers & Footers
In these two boxes you can add text, (and HTML or JavaScript code), in to the header or footer of your survey. If you click on the blue text
you can access the rich text editor for the header or the footer.
Buttons & Progress
- Entering text in these boxes (top right hand corner) will cause the text displayed on the back previous button and next button to change. In order for the previous button to change text you must click the back button box at the top of the page.
- In the drop down you can choose what progress bar is displayed. You can have one of several options.
- None - no progress bar will be displayed.
- With Text - Displays 0% and 100% on either side of the progress bar.
- With Out Text - Does not display the 0% and 100% on either side of the progress bar.
- Verbose Text - Displays the 0% and 100% in larger text so that it is more noticeable.
Because of the complex branching available when using Qualtrics the progress bar calculates the percent of completion by giving each block the same weight and then counting the questions within blocks. This will cause the bar to sometimes appear to be more or less completed than has actually been completed in the survey.
Look & Feel Library
You can select different templates to change the look and feel of your survey. Using the top drop-down you can choose to use templates from the Qualtrics library or organizations library. Note: your organization may or may not have a library depending on the license agreement.

Mobile Phone Look and Feel Templates
When taking a survey using an iPhone or Blackberry, a special Look and Feel template will take over on that device that is better suited to that device. Due to some limitations (potential or otherwise) with the web browser on the device, some question types may not work or may be changed to a similar question type to better represent the question on the device.
