OptOut link for opting out of entire directory?

Greetings all, so we use a Survey to "register" our participants. So the actual "survey results" are never looked at--the answers to the survey questions are injected into our iQ Directory as embedded data fields. We then filter on these embedded data fields to create samples to survey. So, we recently updated our registration survey and I am getting ready to email the people we currently have in our directory a "please update your registration information" type email which will be an invite to the new registration survey (which again will just inject embedded data into iQ Directory).

The issue is that my OptOut link in the bottom of this email invite I'm sending has this code: ${l://OptOutLink?d=here}. If a person clicks this they are taken to the Qualtrics page which allows them to click a link to unsubscribe from that panel. There is a second link that allows them to be removed from ALL panels. When I tested this and clicked the first link, it does not opt me out in the Directory's "Opted In" column. It just changes my phone number to "-1". If I click the second link, it changes the Directory "Opted In" column to "No".

I feel like this is kind of sketchy as I feel like the opt out link for this "survey" should do the latter, not the former. Is there a different piped text code than "${l://OptOutLink?d=here}" that I can put in my invitation that would set them to "No" in the Opted In column in the Directory? I guess I'm saying that if this is a registration survey, the act of "opting out" would mean that people want to be fully opted out (i.e. not contacted by us at all) not still be opted IN with a phone number of "-1".

Or is this it in terms of opt out options and the recipient is responsible for hitting that second link? And so then I, as a matter of good practice and housekeeping, would just have to periodically delete everyone from the Directory that has a phone number equal to "-1" and, in the in-between times, make sure I'm using a sample filter similar to "phone number NOT equal to -1"?

Thanks!

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone has any tips or input on best practices when naming column in DirectoryIQ. I noticed Qualtrics defaults to camel casing for things like "FirstName" or "LastName" but I was thinking of doing something like SQL naming convention for better future migration just in case. Something like "first_name".

In addition, I have a Directory with a Project that triggers multiple columns into the Directory, however most, if not all of the column names are poorly named with bad practices. i.e.) "First Name"
Therefore I was thinking of doing an overhaul of all of the column names in the Directory AND the specific Project.
Off the top of my mind, I know I'll have to change Triggers, Survey Flows, and of course, Attribute names in Directory, but what I was to ask is if anyone can think of anything else that might mess up during my Column Name overhaul that I might've missed? Or if anyone has done something similar, I'd love some tips and tricks!

I know how to send a general "Thank you" to every finished respondent, but is there a way to send specific "Thank you" emails to different groups of finished respondents? For example, if a respondent has given a promoter score, you may want to word the "Thank you" email differently to the "Thank you" email you send to your detractors. I cannot find anyway of changing the recipients nor adding in conditional criteria when sending a "Thank you" to a distribution group.

I have a survey asking what might be considered more personal information so I want to anonymize the responses so panel members feel more comfortable taking the survey. I'm wondering if the reminder will still be smart (sent to those who haven't taken the survey) and if their response history will still be recorded as completed in Target Audience? I realize I can't tie their data to their email, but will I know who (based on email address) completed the survey? Thank you in advance!

Set up embedded data fields that you want to track

Set up a contact trigger list

Add recipentID as an embedded datafield

For each survey that I sent to panel respondents, add embedded datafield "surveyresponsenumber"=$e{ e://Field/ScreenerComplete + 1 }" to keep track of how many survey the respondent has responded to.
