We exported data and included randomization order. We want to view first position data and compare it to the other positions. is there a way to use the exported field that gives the positions to view the data WITHIN QUALTRICS?

You have to prepare the data using randomization order variable to compare.

you must have unique identities in both position data to compare with each other.

Hi Terri - You can avail of the order of appearance of blocks and question choices across variables Block Randomizer - Display Order and Display Order - _question text_ in the data export. These variables display the labels if you select 'Use numeric values' or codes if you select 'Use choice text' while exporting the data. However, you must be very sure to select 'Export viewing order data for randomized surveys', before you are able to download what you need.

Once you have the order, you might want to rename the display order variables (for simplicity), and as there would be only a finite set of combinations of the order display - you can add in a variable tagging these (in the data export) and uploading/importing the updated data set, else, you can perform the tagging step in Data & Analysis section as well. Of course, whatever you choose to do - just double check to keep the Response_ID field intact when uploading the revised data file.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you could sail through 🙂
