Replace file for response with File upload question

We need to change one of the files that was uploaded in a survey. The respondent contacted us with a replacement because there had been some mix-up.
We cannot find any way to achieve this. The edit Response feature leaves all file uploads greyed out. The option to Retake the response does not help either, because this also only shows the greyed-out name of the originally uploaded file, and does not offer any way to access or delete or replace this previously submitted file.
Does anyone know of a way to achieve this? It seems obvious to us that this should be possible, but we cannot find it, and the website does not seem to explain this either. (There is a tip: "Attention: Once a file is uploaded, it cannot be removed by a participant. However, the participant will have the option to replace the file with a different file.", but this seems to be possible only until the response has been submitted)
Any help greatly appreciated!

Can you just delete the response and have the respondent retake?

Thanks for answering, pogi.
Nope, it seems impossible to manage anything around file uploads. The only possible delete can be done by deleting the entire response it seems.

Hi JorisvdB! I wanted to hop in here and let you know that if a user is sent a Retake Response link, they should be able to replace an old file with a new one for a File Upload question. If that is not the case, please be sure to contact our Support team, as they will best be able to assist with troubleshooting!

We tested LaurenK's answer (thanks, LaurenK !).
And it works! But I must say, that it is not very intuitive. It looks as if the file is only presented (it is gray, too). But if you click it, you do get a File open-dialogue, where a new file can indeed be uploaded. We did not understand it before, and have really searched quite hard for a way to do this...
