Merging multiple variables into one

Hi there,

I'm looking for a way to combine multiple variables into one - example https://imgur.com/a/aqSsVsJ. All variables are mutually exclusive so each case will only have a response for only one variable.

Is there an easy way to do this in Qualtrics? I've tried branching into embedded data in the survey flow but can't get it to work - If they have selected a choice at either Variable1/2/3, pipe in text at Variable1/2/3.

Right now I'm exporting the data and manipulating it through excel then re-importing it which isn't ideal.

Many thanks,
Peter

create embed variable and pipe all your variables as all are exclusive, so only one value is stored.

a= a1a2a3a4...

I second @bansalpeeyush29, we do it exactly same way
Thanks for the replies.

!

Am I doing this correctly?

I've did a dummy survey and the new embedded data fields still remain empty
