Matrix profile type how to get value selected into email

I have a matrix question that has two drop downs.

The problem I am having is in my email trigger. I am trying to pipe text from the question based on what is selected and I cannot get it to work. I'm not sure what the right combination is?

I can get all my other questions values, but not this one. The only value I keep getting is the labels "Semester" and "Year"
