Quality Measures Within Your Survey

When we first reach out to you, we’ll likely ask about attention filters and other quality measures – view that information here.

At your request (and following our recommendation), we will add attention filters and/or forced response if you don’t already have them. These will be added only with your permission.

The one thing we add by default without asking is the speeding check. After the soft launch, we will be adding a cutoff that screens people out if they take less than 1/3 the median time. So, if the true median time of your survey is 15 minutes, we will consider anyone under 5 minutes as a “speeder”; i.e., we can safely assume they’re not reading carefully and are not providing honest and useful feedback. We’ll let you know that we’ve added this – feel free to let us know if you have questions or if you don’t want to utilize this.

The most common question we get about this is “I know respondents can’t take my survey in XX minutes. Can you increase the speeding check?” The answer to this question is usually no. We follow a standard that has been set in the industry and is widely accepted and used. For this reason, we will generally will not consider anyone invalid on the basis of time alone beyond the time cutoff we’ve set. However, if you have questions about or issues with this, please reach out. We’ll be happy to discuss and explain.
