The talent impact: the critical nature of recruiting at Qualtrics

Recruiting people to a business is, of course, all about finding the best person for a job. But to us it’s also completing a team with a role waiting to be filled; it’s giving the perfect candidate a fantastic opportunity in their career; and it’s having a direct impact on the success of a company. Being a trusted advisor to a business, recruiters are in a position to drive forward the needs of a business, and - at Qualtrics especially - deliver on some of the company's most mission-critical goals.
For a lot of our recruiters, it’s personal. You get to have a direct impact on someone’s life and the direction their career takes. Ali, a Marketing and Communications Recruiter at Qualtrics, says that, “I get to have a very personal impact on somebody's life. I get to be with them as they are making a huge decision, whether that's for somebody coming right out of college, or if I'm talking to a senior leader who’s considering uprooting their family and relocating to take on a leadership role at the company.” As a recruiter, you’re taking on an advisory role in order to support the candidate, and the company.
Qualtrics’ recruiting also has a direct impact on the business. It's people who make up a company, and without great people, that company won’t succeed. Mauricio, Associate Manager of Talent Acquisition LAC at Qualtrics, says that, “I love the fact that I’m an instrumental part of our world. I love the fact that I can really have an impact.” Recruiters hire the engineers who make our products top of the line, the salespeople who talk about our product every day, and everyone in between. Every branch of the business is supplied with people through the recruitment process, so to succeed it’s imperative that recruiters get it right. For Mauricio, it’s something that drives him every day. “The impact that we have in the growth and the results of the company is something I’m super passionate about. The same way I love the company, I want to be responsible for it to win. A lot of what I do creates impact and a lot of the impact is hopefully beneficial for the company, which in turn makes me really proud of the work that I do.”
At Qualtrics, recruiters are at the forefront of companies achieving their goals and that first person someone talks to when considering a change in their professional life. It’s imperative that they get the best person for each position. Sarah, Technical University Recruiter at Qualtrics, says that in recruiting, “You work with onboarding, hiring managers, candidates, and you have to make sure you’re aligned with a lot of different stakeholders across the business.” Across the board, recruiters are essential to making things go smoothly. “Recruiting is really the heart of a company in a lot of ways and makes a lot of things run. It’s challenging but fun.”
