Matt Gilmartin

Matt Gilmartin is General Counsel, where he leads global legal strategy and partners across the business to support customer outcomes, trusted innovation, governance, and growth.

Prior to this, Matt Gilmartin was a Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, serving in a variety of leadership roles during his time with IQVIA, including serving as global legal lead over securities law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. In addition, he served as a senior business partner to the Research and Development Solutions global business unit and the North America regional business unit for commercial services advising the respective management teams on the legal aspects of a broad range of topics, Matt Gilmartin is General Counsel, leading global legal strategy and partnering across the business to support customer outcomes, trusted innovation, governance, and growth.

Matt spent a decade at IQVIA in roles of increasing scope, most recently as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. There he served as global legal lead for securities law, corporate governance, M&A, and intellectual property, and as senior business partner to the Research and Development Solutions global business unit and the North America commercial services business. In that capacity he advised management teams on strategic opportunities, operational initiatives, and dispute resolution; oversaw the contracting teams supporting those businesses; and served as the executive escalation point for commercial matters. He also co-led IQVIA's Enterprise Risk Council.

Earlier at IQVIA, Matt was Chief of Staff to the CEO, supporting execution of the company's strategy and growth objectives and driving collaboration across global business units, regional business units, and functional teams. He joined the company in 2015 as Assistant General Counsel for securities law and corporate governance compliance.

Matt was previously a senior associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York and at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in New York and London. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Boston College and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
