Create a Customer Experience program from the Qualtrics project catalog. Think of it as the foundation your entire program lives on — not a survey itself, but the structure that holds everything your program produces. From inside it, you can build new surveys, connect existing ones, and add dashboards as you go. The Journey tab lets you map up to 20 stages of the customer experience, visualizing where engagement is highest and where opportunities for improvement are hiding.

Plan your sharing settings early so everyone who needs visibility has it from day one. A well-shared program is a program that drives action.

 

Win 2: Establish your baseline 

Even teams with a general sense of how their customers feel are often missing what matters most: a number they can stand behind, one that's consistent, trackable, and tied to something real enough to set goals around.

That changes the moment your first relationship survey goes live. Within roughly two weeks of launch, you have a real NPS or CSAT baseline that's yours to own. You can track it over time, cut it by customer segment, and use it to set targets that mean something. Improvement stops being a feeling and starts being a measurable, reportable reality. Leadership stops asking "how are customers feeling?" and starts asking "what's moving the number?"

Build your relationship survey inside the program. Open with your key metric question — NPS or CSAT — followed immediately by an open-ended "why" question. That pairing is what separates a score from an insight. Brand driver questions (trust, helpfulness, ease of use) come next, then open comments, and if your process supports it, a consent question for closed-loop follow-up — something like: "Do you consent to being contacted regarding your feedback?"

A recommended cadence: send to 25% of your active customer population each quarter so each customer receives the survey once annually while you maintain a continuous data stream. Automate the send via a workflow tied to your contact list or sample.

Start with a single monitoring page and three widgets: an outcome metric showing your current NPS or CSAT with a prior-period delta, a trend line showing week-over-week movement over 90 days, and a response ticker — a scrolling feed of verbatim comments tied to scores.

That last widget does something the charts can't: it makes the customer visible as a person, not a data point. It's consistently the one that generates the most energy in stakeholder reviews, and the moment the numbers become real.

Configure dashboard access before you share. Editors can modify; viewers get a read-only experience. Stakeholders should be energized by what they see — not tangled up in the structure.

 

Win 4: Let your program do the follow-up
