Is there a way to insert graphics in the loop and merge cells? I would like to start with a full row of pictures then they should disappear one by one in each loop. Thanks a lot!

Yes, this is doable. Add the images as options to a multi-choice multi-select question. Next, configure the loop and merge block based on this question.
