Terms of Service FAQ



Do these terms apply if I have a separate agreement?
No, if you have a separate agreement with Qualtrics, generally a master license agreement or a master services agreement, those terms will supersede these Terms and govern our relationship.
Why are you changing the Terms?
The Terms were last updated in late 2013. The Terms needed an update to reflect changes to our Services and changes to the law.
How do I accept these Terms?
By using or accessing the Services on or after May 12, 2016, you agree to the updated Terms. You may be asked to click an “I Accept” button or check box presented with these Terms. These Terms govern unless you have a separate agreement with us.
What changed?
We encourage you to read the full Terms, but here are some of the main changes:

  • We’ve updated the confidentiality section to protect confidential information that we may provide to you and added standard legal exclusions from confidential information.
  • We’ve changed how academic users can use our Services. See the FAQ below.
  • We’ve added a clause to ensure that disputes between us are on an individual basis (rather than on a class basis) and without a jury.
  • We’ve modified how we will give notice of future changes to these Terms, now via this website or by email to your account.
Will this change affect the way I can use the Services?
Generally, no. You should experience no change in the Services, and you will not need to do anything differently. If you are an academic user on an academic license and are using the Services for compensation, you will no longer be able to do that. We love our academic users and provide them our Services for a great deal but we don’t want them using the Services for compensation.
When will the new Terms take effect?
Immediately on May 17, 2016.
