5 Cancer Fighters to Lead On-Court Moment During Third Quarter Break

SALT LAKE CITY (October 28, 2019) – Following last week’s announcement that Qualtrics will continue sponsoring the Jazz jersey for four more seasons and they’ll donate the patch to 5 For The Fight every year, the Jazz will hold their first of two “5 For The Fight” nights this season on Wednesday, Oct. 30 vs. the LA Clippers.

“5 For The Fight Night” will feature the five cancer fighters who, alongside Jazz players, helped announce the partnership extension in a press conference on Oct. 21 and signed symbolic $5 contracts to participate in the evening’s activities. The five fighters are featured in the latest 5 For The Fight public service announcement and collectively represent cancer fighters everywhere: Emma Houston, Wyatt Page, Dani Phillips, Baylee Semrow and Dave Warren.

5 For The Fight is the charitable cause started by Jazz partner Qualtrics, which encourages everyone to give at least $5 to the fight against cancer. It is the only cause-related jersey patch in the NBA. 5 For The Fight has been widely adopted throughout the community with nearly 30 companies joining the cause by inviting employees to donate $5 per pay period or participating in point of sale campaigns.

To date, 5 For The Fight has raised more than $24 million to help eradicate cancer. All funds raised are used to accelerate the pace of innovative cancer research by supporting revolutionary cancer researchers and cutting-edge medical centers around the world, including the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City.

As has become tradition at “5 For The Fight Night,” fans will be asked to show how they have been personally impacted by cancer. At the third quarter break following the on-court introductions of the five fighters, the crowd will be asked to illuminate the dark arena with the light on their phones. Fans are encouraged to share their photo on social media using the hashtag #5ForTheFight.

Fans can donate their $5 by texting JAZZ to 50555 or visiting www.5ForTheFight.org.
