Room to grow, permission to push boundaries: Shorhon, Senior Technology Consultant
I want to be the best version of myself - the best family member, partner, friend, and professional. I do what I do to constantly define and redefine what that version is and what success looks like, whether that means reaching a new personal record on my run, being there for a friend even after a draining work week, or picking up software certifications in my own time. Qualtrics is a fantastic fit because the team here really gives me the space, tools, and support to grow into that version and push the boundaries of success. They continue to challenge and empower me to make impactful decisions for the business.
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
My future Qualtrics manager reached out on LinkedIn. I knew I needed to join after just a few conversations with him. Those conversations convinced me that he was a manager who was passionate and authentic. I’ve had experiences previously where my career growth path and the needs of the company occasionally came into conflict and meeting this manager who clearly put his team first and trusted his people was super inspiring to me.
What is your favorite part of your role?
Learning and consuming everything! My favorite part of the day is discovering something that I didn’t know the day before, whether it happens while working with my team, other groups in the company, or a customer. It’s so rewarding to take what I’ve learned to improve the experiences of our clients and help them build out their XM vision from conception to completion.
Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics?
Don’t consider it, just do it! In all seriousness, I would recommend coming in with an open mind. Be a sponge - learn and question everything. Take a risk and know that your team and leadership will support you in achieving your professional goals.
What made you want to get into implementation?
I really enjoy working with clients directly and seeing the impact of our platform and product on their strategic vision. I’m a huge proponent of the hiking motto “Leave it better than you found it,” so being able to connect at a person-to-person level while enacting positive company-wide change is so rewarding to me. Our customers are the lifeline of the company and I hope to think we are that for them as well. We are customer-obsessed at our core and I want to bring that to our customers because they deserve the best implementation experience.
What is your top #LifeHack?
I have an awful memory; my entire life exists on spreadsheets and my to-do lists. Having a list to track down all of my thoughts helps me feel organized, and calms me down because I know I won’t forget anything. Also, if it takes longer for me to type out the item on my list, I just do it instead!
