Not even the sky’s the limit – Kennedy’s Why

I do what I do because at one point I never saw my potential. I am learning now that any experience can change your life. I went from having no direction to having endless possibilities and opportunities. Qualtrics has given me a new meaning to experience — what it can do for, not just me, but others as well.

What was the turning point when you knew you had to have the job at Qualtrics?

When I saw others my age doing exactly what I wanted to do and being at a company that invests in its employees wellness all-around. Qualtrics has an amazing wellness benefit that I use to invest in a gym that is really hard to get a membership to. The feeling of being at a luxury gym helps not only me mentally but physically because of what they have to offer.

If you're not originally from Dallas can you tell us your story of moving there?

I am originally from Shreveport, Louisiana. I have always wanted to live in Dallas since I was a kid. I love Louisiana, but I couldn't see myself growing there. Dallas has everything I want and need, especially career development. You have to leave your comfort zone to be as successful as possible.

Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics or advice for someone looking to get into a career like yours?

Even if you think you aren't qualified, APPLY ANYWAY! Show how you can contribute by letting your personality shine. Imposter syndrome can happen to the best of us. It’s something you should embrace anyway and envision yourself in the role as much as possible. I overcame this by watching motivational videos, and shooting my shot with companies and landing interviews just to get more comfortable.

How do you feel you've been able to apply what you learned at school to your career?

I can use my skills in psychology to get a better understanding of prospects and my co-workers. Being emotionally intelligent makes you a better person overall, not just in the workforce. I try to use empathy as much as I can to let people know that not only do I care, but I want to help find a solution as well. Prospects call or email with problems daily and it's my job to use emotional intelligence to help them understand that I am more than just a Qualtrics employee, but I take their problems seriously as a person. Prospects are still people at the end of the day!

Most impactful moment?

All of them really but I can’t pick one. I would have to say the one on one's I have with my manager, Matt, and Blake’s SDR training. A couple of my coworkers too! I want to name them but there are so many. They make me feel at home.

Rapid Fire Questions:

What is your favorite part of your role?

The people. I love who I am surrounded by!

What has surprised you the most about working at Qualtrics?

How friendly everyone is and the fact we get fed so much! Everyone here has great personalities and we even hang out after work.

What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?

Its diversity, culture, and LinkedIn presence.

What made you want to get into Sales?

I have always been a people person and found that sales fit my personality most. I couldn’t see myself in a cubicle role. You can’t excel in life literally being boxed in.

What does your day-to-day look like?

Taking names and booking meetings.

To become a keynote speaker and 6+ figure earner. I really want to become a black woman of influence and I feel Qualtrics puts me in a position to help me do that.

What is your top life hack?

Always, always, always stay organized in your ENTIRE life. Use apps, a physical planner, whatever, use it!

Have you become involved in the community at Qualtrics?

I absolutely have and I love it. Mosaiq is something I can't wait to get more involved in. I would love to make my own community one day.

What 3 words would you use to describe Qualtrics to someone?

Fun, Impactful, Invaluable

What a myth about your career that you'd like to bust?

That it's way too hard. It's not. Is it a grind? Yes, but it's a good feeling to know you are making money and having an excellent work-life balance.
