From the Q-mmunity

A letter on TACOS from Farren, Qualtrics Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lead

On (inter)national TACO(S) day, aside from being an avid consumer of tacos (the spicy kind that comes with guacamole), I am also excited to share my experience on how our values and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are deeply integrated into our company values of Transparency, All-In, Customer Obsessed, One Team and Scrappiness (TACOS):

In order for us to make real progress on our goals, this requires us to be transparent about where we are and what we have yet to achieve. I love the measurable approach that the team has taken towards DEI and also the humility I have seen from leaders in their acknowledgment that while we are making progress, there is still a long way to go.

The term ‘all in cannot be more apt than when applied to DEI. It is everyone's job. The company is all-in on DEI as a big bet that will create a great employee experience, but also deliver outstanding business results.

When it comes to being customer obsessed, we have the privilege of building technology that will help our customers in their own DEI transformation. Our developments with the FIRE index and integration with our EX solutions have tremendous promise for using our technology to be a force for good.

Every one of us needs to be force multipliers for equality, especially when it impacts our co-workers. We all need to have each others’ backs and be one team, not only accepting our differences but using it as a strength that makes us rich in ideas and innovation.

While many of the challenges associated with DEI transformation are historically structural, it is encouraging to see grassroots levels of structure and scrappiness from our Q groups and different regions, teams and individuals, all doing their part to make a difference, everything from the events, team trainings and people sharing their individual action plans. It is so inspiring to see so many people leaning in and making a difference.

I am really proud to be a part of this company, our values and to work alongside incredible people that inspire me every day.

Happy (inter)national TACOS day!
