Under the hood: Operations Program Manager, Akshay, talks about his “why”

Working with like-minded people in an environment that promotes creative-solutioning, high-impact results, and success is a wonderful feeling that drives me to do what I do. It is an ever-changing environment that is at the crux of what makes Qualtrics tick. It feels like working under the hood of a car. The car is what the public and our clients see and we are responsible for making it run as smoothly as possible. Because Qualtrics is a top-of-the-line sports car that needs tuned and greased to perfection, my job puts me in a very challenging impactful role that aligns with my personality and desires.

What does your day look like?

I work with stakeholders in the Research Services world to enable their wildest systems, process, and reporting desires to come to life. It is all internal work that makes their day-to-day lives that much more efficient and productive.

What is your favorite part of your role?

The people I work with at Qualtrics are the best part of my days. Everybody here is so determined to make Qualtrics a better place and do it with a sense of grace and kindness that is second-to-none.

If you are not originally from Utah/Dallas/Dublin/etc. can you tell us your story of moving there?

I moved to Utah with a buddy from college. We were both in Quni and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor activities this state has within its lines. Salt Lake exceeded my expectations of what it had to offer and the proximity to ski resorts simply cannot be beaten.

What has surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?

The transparency leadership has provided throughout my time at Qualtrics has been the most impressive part of my time here. They do not fail to keep their employees in the loop and have a very honest demeanor when communicating to the group at large.

What made you want to get into (engineering, sales, legal, etc.)?

I wanted to get into Operations because I had no idea how a business worked. When interviewing for the role, I quickly realized that my team was responsible for so much at the company. I wanted to be a part of an impactful team while also learning as much as possible.

How have you become involved in the community at Qualtrics? What has that meant to you?

I have been a part of 5 For The Fight since I have been here. It has been an amazing experience and has been one of the most meaningful things I've ever been a part of. Seeing the passion and impact our team has been able to inspire inside and outside of our walls is absolutely incredible.

Qualtrics is growing, and if you're ready to find your "why" at a place like this, you can explore our open opportunities at any time by visiting our career page or by joining our talent community.
