The thrill of the code: Meet Gracjan, Software Support Engineer

I am a great enthusiast of improving, optimizing and automatizing. It brings me true joy to see growth and improvement in both my work environment and my private one. There is something really thrilling about the computer doing even the most complicated work for me, like a well oiled machine.

What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?

A Qualtrics recruiter approached me with a great offer and an even greater attitude on LinkedIn. Then I learned more about the company, and from the beginning it looked like a great place to work.

What was the turning point where you knew you 'had to have the job' at Qualtrics?

Qualtrics puts great emphasis on openness and feedback oriented processes. From the first meetings with employees, I felt that here I could grow and learn new things with unprecedented efficiency. Qualtrics has this great environment for trial and error – there is always somebody ready to help me and I can't wait to be the one to help others.

What does your day look like?

Constant influx of new challenges. It might seem intimidating at first, but I can approach them on my terms and colleagues are there to help me with everything. Talking with clients and employees who I helped or made their work easier is also one of the best feelings one can get working in engineering.

What made you want to get into engineering?

I always wanted to work in IT. At first, like many students, I wanted to be involved with creating computer games. Experience Management proved to be a far better working environment – I have a great work-life balance, I am making a change, and I still do what I enjoy the most.

What 3 words would you use to describe Qualtrics to someone?

Open, Driven, Fun.

What's a myth about your type of job that you'd like to bust? Or about working at Qualtrics?

I think there is this myth that support engineers have a somewhat more boring job than developers. That is completely not true – especially at Qualtrics. I worked as a developer before but I am never bored now. I always have something to improve and help with and almost each day gives a new challenge that I feel geared as best as I could be.

Qualtrics is growing, and if you're ready to find your "why" at a place like this, you can explore our open opportunities at any time by visiting our career page or by joining our talent community.

Gracjan is an alumnus of The Pedagogical University of Cracow and started career at Globallogic. He has two dogs - Ruby and Java - named after programming languages.
