Why Qualtrics

From Product Specialist in Provo to Associate Technical Account Manager in Chicago: Molly’s Developing Career In Customer Success

I do what I do because of my family. When I started as a product specialist, I didn't know that I was expecting a baby. Qualtrics has supported me while working through pregnancy, being on maternity leave, and returning to work as a new mom in a new role on a new team.

What is your favorite part of your role?

My favorite part of the Associate Technical Account Manager role is knowing that my day-to-day tasks are making a difference. Working side-by-side with full-time TAMs, I am helping each client use XM to open gateways to experiences they never had before. I know that with each task I complete, the gap is decreasing between X and O data.

You recently moved to Chicago. Will you tell us your story of moving here?

It is exciting to be a part of the TAM team here in Chicago! I am especially excited to be a part of the new office coming next year. I am originally from Utah and my husband is from Las Vegas. After his undergrad in Utah, my husband and I were looking for places for him to go to law school. He chose the University of Chicago, and since I was planning on joining the TAM team in Provo anyway, Chicago turned into the perfect move for our family. Driving a U-Haul with a 6 month-old baby was quite an adventure, but we are loving life so far in the Windy City!

Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics?

Get prepared to embark on an exciting journey! I've been at the company for one and a half years which is already longer than 50% of all employees. At a company full of changes, we need you to bring ideas to the table to make Qualtrics even more productive and innovative. Never get comfortable with where you are and strive to stay scrappy!

What surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?

What honestly surprised me the most about working at Qualtrics is how much I would LOVE it. In the past, I never saw myself as a mom with a growing, developing career at the same time. I didn't think it was possible, but I was wrong! I knew there was no end in sight for me after having a baby because of how much I grew to love the Qualtrics culture, the excitement I felt in helping businesses succeed, and reaching personal development benchmarks.

What made you want to get into technical account management?

I first started my Qualtrics career as a Product Specialist. In that role, I realized the value of being "Customer Obsessed" and going above and beyond. I really enjoyed problem-solving with clients, as well as coworkers, to find best practices and solutions. I knew from there that I wanted to go to another customer-facing role. With the help of my manager, I figured out that staying in the customer success realm made the most sense. I have since started as the company's first Associate Technical Account Manager! That's the best part of Qualtrics. We are constantly evolving to best cater to the needs of ourselves as well as our clients.
