Why Qualtrics

What’s Meant for You Won’t Pass You: Kira’s Senior CX Technology Consultant Career

I am a strong believer in the saying “what’s meant for you won’t pass you,” and I truly believe that the opportunity to work at Qualtrics came to me at the best possible time. I had reached the point in my career where I was ready for a change when Qualtrics reached out to me.

And to be perfectly honest, initially, I was unsure. I hadn’t heard of Qualtrics before, but I was really excited by the sound of the job description and interested to learn more about the company. As I did, I was continuously impressed with many different aspects of the company.

Qualtrics can provide insights into the “why things are happening” behind data across the four core experiences of business - Customer, Employee, Brand, and Product - which is vital for the success of any company in any industry. This is what got me excited the most - the fact that I could work with multiple different, well-known brands across many different industries all at the same time! Something that I hadn’t yet experienced.

I could also clearly see that Qualtrics truly demonstrates that it focuses on Employee Experience through the many employee-focused initiatives around the office (the free food being one of my favourite ones).

Halfway through the interview process, I quickly changed my mind from feeling unsure to feeling that Qualtrics could be the exact place I wanted to take the next steps of my career.

Why did you decide to join Professional Services at Qualtrics?

To put it simply a role in XMS Professional Services aligned with my experience and skills. But, what really got my attention, was how the role was a perfect mix of both tech and project management. I always thought I would have to choose between these two areas in the next chapter of my career. However, the role in XMS was able to offer me experience in both areas. I enjoy the variety that working on multiple different projects can offer and so felt that there would never be a dull day at Qualtrics.

What is the "day to day of your role”?

From a project management perspective, day-to-day activities can include leading detailed implementation project plans, managing scope and coordinating activities with both functional and technical SMEs to push projects towards target achievements.

From a technical perspective, I provide mentorship on the configuration of our platform and offer advice on how best to set up the Qualtrics platform in order to ensure the successful delivery of Qualtrics. What never ceases to amaze me is the technical capability of the platform and how extensive the list of what it can do is! Many people may hear of Qualtrics and think of just surveys but once you get into it, you realise that the platform is so much more than that. The survey component is enhanced with many impressive integrations and analytics capabilities, that produce a powerful tool that allows clients to gain invaluable insights. A large part of my day to day role is enabling the client to make use of those capabilities so that they can take action and drive value.

How has your role differed from your expectations versus what you are doing now?

For the most part, the role is as I expected. An unanticipated positive to the role is that I have had two great opportunities to travel in the first six months (to Prague and to Provo).

What does Experience Management mean to you?

I am the type of person who will spend hours trolling through reviews, asking for friends and family opinions, and checking all possible options before making my final decision on a hotel, restaurant, brand, holiday etc. (I’m also extremely indecisive but that’s another story). So I believe that it is crucial that companies pay attention to customer and employee feedback in order to stay successful. I am very happy to be part of a client’s journey where they make this a priority for their business.

What do you like most about your job?

Variety, people, and the place. Every client is different. They each have different business objectives which makes every project unique. Every project is a new challenge and you never stop learning and growing - both as a person and in your skills and experience. I enjoy working with people and love the amazing working environment Qualtrics creates, making “going to work” more like a lifestyle we live rather than something we just have to do. We are able to be ourselves in so many ways, and there are many initiatives going on which encourage that. I also love the support that is given for driving your own initiatives, if you have a great idea don’t wait, just go for it!!

What is your top #LifeHack?

Don’t stress, just be yourself and what’s meant for you won’t pass you. :)
