Why Qualtrics

Why Qualtrics – Cameron Borrebach – Associate Manager, Finance – Seattle

What is your 'why'? How does Qualtrics connect to your ‘why’?

I am on a nonstop journey of personal and professional growth. I love to surround myself with smart, passionate people that consistently push me to think in new ways, develop new skills, while also allowing me to reflect & relax for a moment.

The decision to work at Qualtrics was a no-brainer—the company prioritizes this same growth and learning that is core to my life. I was immediately attracted to the growth opportunities within the company and the learning opportunity to be on a team that is truly best-in-class. I was aware of the brand and product having an amazing reputation, but it was the team that sold me on Qualtrics.

What made you want to get into finance?

I got into Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) because I love using data to inform strategy. In college, I majored in decisions sciences which was very heavily focused on discovering why people and institutions make decisions through the use of economics, statistics, and history. My major, coupled with my penchant for extroversion meant that FP&A was a natural use of my skills. It worked out well, because every year that passes, I realize more and more how much I like what I do!

What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?

Piggybacking off of my love of finance, Qualtrics was naturally the place to be for a finance professional working in the tech industry. There was a lot of IPO buzz -- which is immediately attractive because all finance professionals want to have a successful IPO with a great company -- but the IPO story is not uncommon and very few companies have what it takes to get there. I could tell Qualtrics was different, not only because of the quality of the team and product, but they also had the backing of the two best VC firms in the US. I knew if I could get in the door that I was joining a great company that was heading in the right direction.

What does your day look like?

In a given day, I am tracking our sales pacing, working on fun and interesting projects, grabbing coffee/lunch with coworkers and helping to answer business questions with data-driven insights. We have an amazing office overlooking Elliott Bay and it’s a great space to spark creativity and connect with coworkers. Additionally, the entire company is wired with Zoom, so it’s incredibly easy to connect with the teams in Provo, Dublin & Sydney -- which we do constantly!
