Why Qualtrics

Daniel, Sales Development Representative, Focused on Future and Family

My 'why' is my family, 100%. I do everything with an eye on the future, making sure that we will be set up well and I can lead and give them everything they deserve.

By being the leader in Experience Management, Qualtrics gives me the opportunity to have extraordinary experiences! I can learn, get opportunities to grow, and be supported along the way. I feel incredibly secure in knowing that my leaders truly care about my personal development. That was really important to me as I looked for an organization to start my career with.

What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?

The news of the SAP acquisition. I figured that if a company was about to go public but then was bought privately (and for so much money) then they were doing something right!

What was the turning point where you 'had to have the job'?

When I went into the Dallas office for my interview. The second I walked in I was hooked. The whole set-up and vibe were electric! I also had a mustache at the time, and as I walked in the front door someone walked by and said "nice mustache, dude!" Even though I didn't even have an offer yet, I felt like I fit in.

You moved to Dallas, right? Tell us about the move.

In October of 2019, after dating my fiance long-distance (girlfriend at the time) for most of the year I packed up my car with all that I owned and drove 3 days from California to Dallas. I did not have a job lined up at that point, or really any significant prospects. I had just finished playing my last season of professional baseball and was making the transition to 'corporate America.' I actually spoke with my recruiter, Natalie, the day before I left, as well as in the middle of New Mexico on my second day for a follow-up. It was a good icebreaker!

What surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?

How smart and hard-working everyone is! Every single person is an absolute ROCKSTAR at what they do. At first, it was intimidating. But now knowing that I belong here, it makes coming into the office and socializing really enjoyable!

What is your top #LifeHack?

Start your day before the sun comes up and working out consistently. Challenging your body and knowing that you can overcome various obstacles puts you in a great mindset!
