Elena shares her Qualtrics Sales Development Representative career
I am a very focused and results-oriented person. I always try to offer the best of me, to become not only a better professional but also a better person. Feeling fulfilled with my job makes me happy, which is why I consider Qualtrics to be a place that offers me everything I need in the present and all I'll need in the future.
What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?
The size of the company is just right and also the amazing perks. When you work for a big company, you might feel that you are not cared for, but in Qualtrics ever since Luzienne, the Recruiter for the SDR team contacted me, I felt valued and appreciated.
What was the turning point where you knew you 'had to have the job' at Qualtrics?
I suppose it happened before my first personal interview, when I went to the office and I saw how happy everyone looked, with no closed rooms and an office full of transparency, literally and figuratively. Amy and Leigh (two of the SDR Managers) were so good to me, letting me be myself and explaining how I felt during the process, I even joked with them during the interview and that never happened to me before.
Everyone was so nice, in the elevator, the hall, and at reception. When I left the building after the interview, I told myself: Elena, you better be good because you need to work here!
What is your favorite part of your role?
Being in touch with people constantly. I'm such a people person, that I think I was always meant to be talking and helping, and Qualtrics is offering me that. I also get to work with and help people not just in my own home country, but I get to collaborate with people from all over the world.
Can you tell us what it was like moving to Dublin?
I moved to Dublin 4 years ago. I was trying to find a better future and a job that makes me feel happy every day. I have been jumping between companies for a while, but then, I found Qualtrics and I felt that I belong here :)
What is your best career advice?
Choose a role and company that makes you wake up happy with the thought that you are going to the office.
Since I work at Qualtrics I find it very easy to get into a routine, I feel comfortable at my workplace and I think that leads to good results. There is a famous quote that says "choose a job that you love, and you won't have to work a day in your life".
What has surprised you most about working at Qualtrics?
How easy is everything at Qualtrics. I don't feel controlled or monitored, I feel free and also I feel trusted, which is for me one of the main points for a good workplace and management.
Also, I got to invite my family and best friends to the office and show them where I work. When you live in a different country, this is important to the people who love you and Qualtrics always opens their doors to the people that I love. Now, all of my friends love Qualtrics too!
What made you want to get into sales?
For years, people that know me kept telling me that I have the right personality for a Sales role, because, as I said, I love talking to people and helping. I think you feel it in your daily mood when you are doing something that not only makes you feel good but also makes you feel that the role is made for you and you are always looking for ways to improve.
What's a myth about your type of job that you'd like to bust?
Sales is not boring. People aren't rude to you the whole time. I have to say that I feel so lucky to work for the Spanish Market. I'm getting to know amazing people in all kinds of industries that are always open to discuss and show you more about their companies.
