Why Qualtrics

Carlo, Technical Account Manager, Gaining Skills for Any Career

Carlo is currently growing his career as a technical account manager (TAM). Working with some of our largest clients, the TAM teams are focused on ensuring that their clients are maxing out the potentials offered by the platform. Learn more about a Technical Account Manager career in this video.

I've always been passionate about empowering others to be successful and enabling them to reach their full potential. In the future, I aspire to become a physician and be able to live out these passions in a medical context. But to start out my career, I wanted to explore a role in the fast-growing tech space, which was an area I had long been interested in.

As soon as I stepped foot in Qualtrics, I could tell that there was a wealth of opportunity to make an impact and gain soft skills that would translate well into any career, including one in medicine. In my time here, I've been able to develop my ability to problem-solve, communicate, and work effectively in a team setting in order to accomplish our goals and delight our customers.

What attracted you to Qualtrics in the first place?

Aside from the opportunity to develop a variety of skills, I was drawn to Qualtrics through the culture and the people. We have five core values at Qualtrics: being transparent, all-in, customer-obsessed, one-team, and scrappy (making up the delicious acronym of TACOS). The people here truly encompass these values, and I always feel like I am supported by my co-workers, many of whom I have become good friends with.

What is your favorite part of your role?

I started at Qualtrics as a Product Specialist, and have since transitioned to my current role as an Associate Technical Account Manager (a TAM) for four of our largest clients. It's hard to choose one favorite part, as I've enjoyed many aspects of this role, including resolving complex technical issues, collaborating with my teammates, and developing a more personal relationship with my clients. While at times the role can be challenging, I feel excited coming to the office each day knowing that my work is making a significant difference.

We understand you’re not originally from Utah. Will you tell us your story about moving here?

I grew up in Connecticut and went to college in Philly, so I was definitely hesitant about moving out to Utah. However, upon coming here to visit the office, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the area is, how much there is to do, and how nice the people are. The transition to living in Silicon Slopes was definitely made easier by having many colleagues in my cohort of Product Specialists who were making the same move. It’s truly become home for me.

Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics?

If you're on the fence about joining, try to reach out to current Qualtrics employees to gain their perspective. It can help you gauge if working here would be a good fit. I would also say that if you have a chance to visit the office and see the Q in action, definitely go for it. Being able to see the office and meet future colleagues had a huge impact on my decision to join.
