About XM Discover Pulse

XM Discover Pulse is a mobile app that lets you share customer feedback with all areas of your business. Administrators have the freedom to customize what data is included, how it’s presented, and who it’s presented to.

Setting up XM Discover Pulse

Administrators have the power to customize their users’ experience on the XM Discover Pulse app. There are 3 key steps to getting this app configured and ready for everyone to use.

Qtip: You need a Manage Settings permission to set up XM Discover Pulse.
  1. Create an app configuration: This step is where you determine data access and filters, configure screens and customizations, and determine which users have access to it.
  2. Share the app configuration: Control which administrators can see this configuration and make edits to it, if needed.
  3. Enable the app configuration: The final step for making your app configuration available and thus giving your users access to it in XM Discover Pulse.

System Requirements

Once the app configuration is complete, your users are ready to start using XM Discover Pulse.

XM Discover Pulse is supported on:

  • iPhone 6S and later with Apple iOS 14.x and later.
  • Android version 8.x and later

The app is named Qualtrics Pulse and can be found on the iOS and Google Play app stores.

Logging into XM Discover Pulse

Once you’ve downloaded the app, you log into it with the same username and password you use to log into Studio on desktop.

Qtip: If your device supports Face ID login and other biometric options, you can enable this for XM Discover Pulse.

If you have single sign-on (SSO), you may be used to logging into Studio from your organization’s catch-all login page. To log into XM Discover Pulse, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Password Help.

  2. Type your email address.

  3. Select Email me a magic code.
  4. Enter the code from your email.

  5. Select Sign In.
Qtip: You can use the magic code even if you don’t have SSO. For example, the magic code can be useful if your password is long and difficult to type, or you’ve forgotten what it is.

Using XM Discover Pulse

Qtip: Depending on how your administrator customized the app, appearance and functionality may vary from what is shown here.

All data shown in Pulse is personalized based on your data access and position in the organization. Each page is tailored with key metrics and data groupings created by an administrator in your organization.

Click through specific feedback, browse specific customer feedback, and share insights.

Navigating XM Discover Pulse

  1. Click this icon to see a menu. Here you can:

    • See the user account you’re logged into.
    • See the master account you are in.
    • Switch between app configurations, if multiple are available to you.
    • Log out of your account.
    • Leave feedback for the app.
  2. Click topics to navigate through category models and see specific feedback.
  3. Adjust filters to change the data that is displayed in the app.

  4. The search is most useful once you’ve clicked into specific feedback. This can help you find responses.
    Example: Look at feedback on password management and search “failed” to see how many responses mention that exact word.
  5. Share insights over text, email, and more.

Viewing Feedback

When you click inside of a document, you can read the full feedback. You can also see sentiment highlights and other details.

Tap the bar at the bottom of the screen to pull up more information about the document, such as the document date and key information.

Use the buttons along the bottom to copy a link to the document or to share it with someone.

Qtip: Swipe left and right to navigate through documents.

Sharing Multiple Feedback

When viewing a list of feedback responses, tap and hold to enter multiple-select mode.

Once you select multiple documents, you can copy a link to them, or share them.
