Source Filter
About the Source Filter
Some connectors let you set up source-specific data options—for example, you can specify product or company name for the CFPB inbound connector. These integrated data options are called source filters. This way you can control which documents get uploaded into XM Discover via these jobs.
The following connectors support source filters:
Accessing the Source Filter
There are several ways you can access the source filter options for a job:
- When creating a job: Define a source filter on the data options page.
Qtip: The page where you set up the source filter is different depending on the connector. - For existing jobs: Access the source filter options by selecting the Data Source Filter option from the job’s actions menu. You can then update the connector filter for a job via the Data Source Filter In this case, the source filter is applied to all data uploaded via this job moving forward.
Defining the Source Filter
You can define the source filter condition on the data options page when creating a job or via the Data Source Filter window when updating source filters for existing jobs.
Depending on the connector, the source filters can be defined in several different ways:
- Using the query builder
- Using predefined filters
Using the Query Builder
- Select a condition you wish to use.
- Select an operator for a filter condition from the central drop-down list.
- is. Include the values you specify.
- is not. Exclude the values you specify.
- Specify 1 or more values in the rightmost input field.
- To add or remove conditions, use the plus ( + ) and minus ( – ) buttons on the right.
Qtip: Filter conditions have an AND relationship. Filter values in the same condition have an OR relationship.
- Save your changes.
Using Predefined Filters
Some connectors let you choose filters defined in your account on the connector’s service side.
Instead of updating these filters’ definitions, you can switch between predefined filters.
