About Multi Data Source Composite Tables
The Multi Data Source Composite displays the mean, range, and gap scores of the statement within a question. This table is useful if you want to visually, and quantitatively compare the results between two data sources for an individual statement or an entire question.
This page discusses features unique to the Multi Data source Composite. For general Table Options and customization, see the Tables Overview page.
Basic Set-Up
Data sources are important to setting up the Multi Data Source Composite. To get started, click on your table, and then click on Data Source in the toolbar above.
In the diagram above, there are two sections to the data source, separated by a divider.
Data Source 1
Here is where you put the data you want to be compared in the table rows. Because you loaded the Self and Others data source, you’ll notice that the table breaks into a “Self” and “Others” row for each statement in the matrix table. (Because the matrix table in this example has 2 statements, this table has 4 rows.)
It is also important to make sure that the questions and choices selected in this section are the same for each data source. For example, you’ll see that both Self and Others are looking at Q1 matrix, Use All Choices. The table wouldn’t work if you change one to Q1 and the other to Q4, or if you tried to mix up which choices you selected.
Data Source 2
This is where you determine the tick location. The tick is the black line on the colored bars. It serves as a benchmark.
For example, maybe you want a subject to see how they performed this year versus last year. You can add last year’s 360 project as a data source in this section.
Because the example above compares two items in Data Source 1, you’ll want to add two data sources to serve as benchmarks in Data Source 2. These can be the same source (for example, using a company average for both), or completely different (for example, using Self and Others from last year).
Bar and Tick Colors
You can change the color of the bars, the table font, and the tick itself.
Click on the header of the table, then highlight Header Options to open the color menu.
