About Single Value Tables
The Single Value table will display the mean for statement loaded into it. It allows for the addition of multiple data sources, so you can compare values at a glance.
Variations
There are two versions of the Single Value table to choose from.
Standard
The Standard Single Value table allows you to display data from Matrix Table questions and the multiple choice columns of Side by Side questions.
When setting the data source for the Standard Single Value table, it is better not to mix the statements or questions you select. While the values will change accurately, the header will reflect the statement chosen in the first data source.
Below is an example of an incorrectly set up data source. Unless the different questions loaded here were asking the same thing and/or you edited your column header, your table would display totally unrelated and mislabeled values.
However, any “Use All Choices” option (as seen below) will work just fine.
Scoring Single Value
The Scoring Single Value table allows you to display data from all of your scoring categories.
It is okay to mix data sources for the Scoring Single Value table.
Data Format
For general Table Options and customization, see the Tables Overview page.
Go to Table Options and select Data Format to decide what statistic your table values should be calculated based on. The Data Formats available differ based on the type of Single Value table you are using.
Standard
The Data Format of the Single Value table is mean by default.
Scoring Single Value
- Weighted Mean: Calculated by taking the total score of all items and dividing it by the number of items in the scoring category. For example, if your total score is 50, and there were 10 questions in the scoring category, your weighted mean would be 5. Since weighted mean forces all scoring categories onto the same scale, this makes it good for comparing scoring categories that add up to different total points.
- Mean: The average.
